The completed pack for a depower/reinitialise job contains: the job card with work performed and time; the signed JSA/SWMS; the depower record with the three verification readings, meter serial and calibration date; the DTC report before and after; the recalibration checklist; and any fault escalation. 📖 Case Study — The Paper Shield

Eight months after a routine battery service, a BEV caught fire while charging at the owner's home. The insurer pursued the last workshop to touch the vehicle. That workshop produced: the signed depower record with three verification readings and the meter's calibration certificate, the torque record for the service plug, before/after DTC reports showing normal isolation resistance at release, and the customer handover note. The forensic investigation traced the fire to aftermarket charging equipment — and the workshop's documentation ended its involvement in a single meeting. The workshop next door, asked a similar question a year earlier with no records, settled out of court. Documentation is the cheapest insurance a technician will ever buy.
