Solar work has a hazard grid electricians rarely face: panels cannot be switched off while the sun shines. A string of ten panels is 300–400 V DC in daylight, and DC arcs do not self-extinguish like AC. Cover panels before disconnecting, break circuits only at breakers or with load-break-rated connectors, and treat every conductor as live. Add rooftop hazards — harnesses, ladder discipline, midday heat — and PPE: insulated gloves, eye protection, hat and water.
