This qualification is an entry-level qualification aimed at individuals entering the permaculture industry. It allows individuals to develop basic skills and knowledge to prepare for work as a permaculture assistant. Permaculture assistants may undertake a range of simple tasks under close supervision. The range of technical skills and knowledge is limited. The qualification is suited to VET delivered to secondary school students or learners with no previous connection to permaculture or relevant employment history. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Packaging Rules
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in: 6 units of competency: 4 core units plus 2 elective units. Elective units must ensure the integrity of the qualification’s Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome. The electives are to be chosen as follows: 1 unit must be selected from the electives listed below remaining 1 unit may be selected from the elective list or any other currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
