This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to develop a farm plan. It includes auditing and managing the natural resources (water, soil, biodiversity including vegetation and wildlife), integrating the management of natural resources with business objectives and production plans. This unit applies to farm managers whose role is to manage a property's natural resources alongside business objectives and production plans. They usually work autonomously and exercise judgement to complete a range of advanced skilled activities. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, work health and safety legislation and codes, and sustainability practices. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
