This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide advice on the processes involved in planning, implementing and monitoring carbon farming projects that utilise approved methods. The unit applies to individuals who provide advice to land owners, eligible interest holder groups and land managers about implementing projects to earn carbon credits. This unit applies in the context of at least one approved carbon farming method to increase carbon storage or reduce emissions. Note the term 'advice' referred to in this unit does not relate to financial advice which requires an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL). This unit does not address the skills or the generic knowledge requirements in 'ASIC Regulatory Guide 146 Licensing: Training of financial product advisors'.
