This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to identify faults that do not require the services of qualified tradespeople and carry out routine service, adjustment and maintenance of milking equipment. This unit applies to individuals who work as farm hands or milking machine technicians and carry out routine servicing and maintenance of milking machine components on a dairy facility. All work is carried out to comply with workplace policies and procedures, according to state/territory work health and safety, animal welfare, environmental and biosecurity legislation, regulations and standards that apply to the workplace. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
