This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to manage wildfire hazard reduction programs. The unit applies to those whose job role includes managing wildfire hazard reduction programs through planning, advising and monitoring the performance of operational personnel undertaking fire prevention activities. They have accountability for the work of others and analyse, design and communicate solutions to a range of complex problems. Legislation and regulations apply to planned burns in many jurisdictions. Users are advised to check with the relevant regulatory authority.
