This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to develop an irrigation system maintenance program, supervise irrigation maintenance, maintain testing equipment, supervise pest and weed control in an irrigated area and complete irrigation system maintenance records. The unit applies to individuals who apply specialised skills and knowledge to the supervision of irrigation system maintenance and have responsibility for the output of others. This includes applying and communicating non-routine technical solutions to predictable and unpredictable problems. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements are known to apply to this unit at the time of publication.
