This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to construct access tracks and clear vegetation on rural land, and implement erosion control by using specialised earthmoving techniques at fine tolerances. The unit applies to individuals who work in land management, performing work that is often carried out in varied conditions and landscapes that require operators to develop skills that are unique to this sector. They use discretion and judgement in the selection, allocation and use of available resources and for solving problems Licenses for heavy vehicles and excavation equipment and machinery may be required in some jurisdictions. Users are advised to check with the relevant regulatory authority.
