This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to remove and facilitate reuse of effluent and manure from an intensive livestock production system. The unit applies to individuals who remove and facilitate reuse of effluent and manure from an intensive livestock production system under broad direction and take responsibility for their own work. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, according to state/territory health and safety regulations, legislation and standards that apply to the workplace, and sustainability and biosecurity practices. The production workplace may be required to comply with local council, state or Commonwealth licensing requirements for operations involving effluent and manure. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
