This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to develop strategies for on Country management from an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander perspective. On Country refers to the land, waterways and the sea. This unit applies to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander worldviews and beliefs as they impact and affect Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander sites work on Country. The unit applies to working either as an autonomous worker or under the supervision and Cultural Authority of Traditional Owners or Elders for specific Country. All work is undertaken according to local Community guidelines and cultural protocols. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
