This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to develop a proposal for a negotiated outcome with local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders for a given area of Country. On Country refers to the land, waterways and the sea. This unit applies to individuals who work in research and in consultation with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Communities and Cultural Authorities. The unit applies to working either autonomously or under the supervision and Cultural Authority of Traditional Owners or Elders for specific Country. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
