This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to carry out routine preparation and storage of products on a permaculture property. It covers the grading, labelling, treatment and storage of harvested products. This unit applies to individuals who work under general supervision and exercise limited autonomy with some accountability for their own work. They undertake defined activities and work in a structured context. Licensing, legislative or certification requirements may apply to this unit for handling, processing and distribution of permaculture products that are used for human consumption. Users are advised to check with relevant regulatory authority.
