This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare and mix raw materials into a suitable feedstock mixture, monitor the composting process, conduct quality control inspection and clean up. The unit applies to individuals who prepare raw materials and compost feedstock under broad direction, and take responsibility for their own work and for the quality of the work of others. All work is carried out to comply with workplace procedures, health and safety in the workplace requirements, legislative and regulatory requirements. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
