This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to apply a strategic pest management approach to define a weed, vertebrate or invertebrate pest problem for a target area. The unit applies to individuals who use consultation and analysis to define the pest problem. They exercise autonomy in undertaking complex work and analyse, design and communicate solutions to sometimes complex problems. No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements are known to apply to this unit at the time of publication.
