This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to develop a pest management plan that applies to a large or regional area. It also describes the skills and knowledge required to gain agreement and commitment from stakeholders to implement the plan, which is used by land managers who practice sustainable land management principles and require a collaborative approach with neighbouring landholders. The unit applies to individuals who take personal responsibility and exercise autonomy in undertaking complex work. They demonstrate deep knowledge in specific technical areas, are able to analyse and synthesise information, and analyse, design and communicate solutions to sometimes complex problems. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
