This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to safely receive, move and sample bulk materials (in liquid and solid form, not classified as dangerous goods) in a storage area to minimise loss or damage, and repair, clean and maintain storage facility according to industry standards and storage program. The unit applies to individuals who handle bulk materials in a bulk storage environment under broad direction and take responsibility for their own work. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, health and safety in the workplace requirements, legislative and regulatory requirements, and environment and biosecurity practices. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
