This unit describes the performance outcomes required to remove, replace and program electrical and electronic units and assemblies integral to vehicle and machinery controller area network databus (CAN-bus). Electrical and electronic units and assemblies include powertrain control modules, engine and body control modules, and other electronic control modules that may require manufacturer programming procedures. It applies to those working in the automotive service and repair industry. The electrical and electronic units and assemblies include those fitted to agricultural machinery, heavy commercial vehicles, light vehicles, vessels, mobile plant machinery, motorcycles or outdoor power equipment. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

0110.E4.O3Post-replacement testing is carried out to confirm that unit and assembly are operating to manufacturer specifications and that no other problems are present
E5Complete work processes
0110.E5.O1Final inspection is made to ensure work is to workplace expectations and vehicle or machinery is presented ready for use
0110.E5.O2Work area is cleaned, waste and non-recyclable materials are disposed of, and recyclable material is collected
0110.E5.O3Tools and equipment are checked and stored and any faulty electrical equipment is identified, tagged and isolated according to workplace procedures
