This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to identify and describe the function, purpose and interaction of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) components in vehicles. It involves understanding the operating principles of ADAS technologies, the relationship between system inputs and outputs, and how these systems contribute to overall vehicle performance and road safety. This unit applies to individuals working in automotive environments who require a foundational understanding of ADAS technologies. It supports job roles involving vehicle repairers, customer service, sales, training, damage assessments, or pre-diagnostic assessment, where knowledge of ADAS function and vehicle integration is essential. It does not involve direct system scanning, calibration, diagnostics, or repair.
