This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to inspect and service line trimming systems and components according to manufacturer instructions. The unit involves preparing for the task, inspecting the system and components, reporting the inspection findings, servicing and adjusting the system and components, and completing workplace processes and documentation. The unit applies to those working in the outdoor power equipment service and repair industry. The line trimming systems include brush cutters and grass trimmers which may be electric, or petrol driven, stand-alone or fitted to other equipment systems.
