This unit describes the performance outcomes required to apply knowledge of the construction and operation of engines and their components during engine repair or reconditioning activities. It involves identifying engine components and describing their function. It applies to those working in the automotive service and repair industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
