This unit describes the performance outcomes required to inspect vehicle paint, trim and accessories and make recommendations regarding suitable repair or replacement procedures. It involves preparing for the task, inspecting the technical quality of repair work, recommending repair and rectification options, completing a written report at the request of either the customer or the repairer, and completing workplace processes and other documentation. It applies to those working in the automotive body repair industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
