This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to inspect damaged vehicle systems and recommend repair options. This unit involves preparing for the task, inspecting vehicle system damage, determining the extent of damage by measuring and recommending repair options consistent with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or authorised agency repair instructions. It also involves completing workplace processes and other documentation, including a final inspection report. The unit applies to those who work in the automotive body service and repair industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
