This unit describes the performance outcomes required to prepare and apply refinishing materials to plastic and composite vehicle surfaces. It involves preparing for the task, selecting and using specialist tools and equipment, preparing components, mixing and applying paint materials to plastic or composite components according to paint manufacturer specifications, and completing workplace processes and documentation. It applies to those working in the automotive paint refinishing repair industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
