This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to colour match paints using original equipment manufacturer (OEM) paint codes. This unit involves preparing for the task, selecting and using specialist tools and equipment, preparing colour matching test cards, mixing and spraying paint and conducting a visual colour match, and completing workplace processes and documentation. The unit applies to those working in the automotive paint refinishing repair industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
