This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to mix and apply clear over base (COB) paint materials to vehicle body components. This unit involves preparing for the task, selecting and using specialist tools and equipment, identifying paint faults, preparing surface to be painted, selecting and applying COB two-pack refinishing materials according to manufacturer specifications, and completing workplace processes and documentation. The unit applies to those working in the automotive refinishing industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
