This unit describes the performance outcomes required to measure, mark out, cut and fabricate automotive or marine trim components to given specifications. It involves preparing for the task, selecting and using specialist tools and equipment, checking material quality, calculating material quantity, assembling and trimming components, identifying fabrication defects, and completing workplace processes and documentation. It applies to those working in the automotive and marine trimming industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
