This unit describes the performance outcomes required to identify, select and use leather in the trimming of automotive and marine components. It involves preparing for the task, selecting and using specialist tools and equipment, checking leather quality, calculating required quantities, matching leather, fabricating and attaching covers and trim to manufacturer and customer instructions, and completing workplace processes and documentation. It applies to those working in the automotive and marine trimming industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
