This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to carry out general demolition work of minor building structures to facilitate alterations, extensions and additions to a building in residential and commercial sites. It includes work being completed to schedules, plans and specifications. This unit is designed for those working as a member of a team safely demolishing existing building structures and disposing of the waste materials. It applies to concreters, carpenters and other construction workers working as members of a team. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
