This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to apply waterproofing to external above-ground wet areas, meeting all relevant requirements of Australian Standards, work health and safety (WHS) requirements, and Commonwealth and state or territory legislation. It includes identification of the appropriate waterproofing system to be used, its preparation and its application. A person working at this level would be expected to take responsibility for organising and completing tasks assigned to them without close supervision. Completion of the general construction induction training program specified by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work is required for any person who is to carry out construction work.
