Lesson 3.2 — Scan-Tool Diagnostics & Recalibration
PC 3.2: carry out diagnostic tests to ensure correct recalibration of subsystems affected by the depower. Connect the scan tool, read every module, and record the codes before clearing anything — those codes are your evidence trail. Expect communication and low-voltage DTCs from the dead period; clear them and re-scan for what returns. Then work the recalibration list, because a 12 V interruption wipes learned values: one-touch window auto-up (pinch-point relearn), steering angle sensor zero, clock and infotainment presets, tyre pressure baselines, A/C actuator sweep, and on some models brake-system and radar/camera initialisations that the OEM procedure will name. Isolation-resistance values reported by the BMS should also be checked against specification — that number is the vehicle's own opinion of its HV insulation health.
