This qualification provides learners with the foundational knowledge and skills to explore a range of career opportunities within the Australian energy sector. It introduces learners to key industry areas including electrotechnology, renewable energy, industrial gases, battery storage systems, heavy electrical mobile plant, and emerging areas such as automation and climate control. The qualification involves structured project work that develops foundation, technical and communication skills, safe work practices and basic use of tools and equipment. Learners will also develop skills to use digital technologies to research energy occupations and develop a personalised career profile. Work is performed under supervision in structured learning environments, requiring learners to exercise autonomy and limited judgement to carry out defined project and practical tasks, following established routines and safe work practices.
