This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to inspect and monitor the fabric and setting of heritage or culturally significant places to identify inconsistencies with conservation and management plans. The unit applies to individuals who work in an environment requiring a high level of cultural awareness and the need to observe cultural protocols. They provide solutions to technical and unpredictable problems, work autonomously, instruct, and monitor the work of others within a team. They use discretion and judgment in the selection, allocation and use of available resources. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
