This unit describes the performance outcomes required to carry out lead wiping and lead filling repairs to damaged vehicle body components. It involves preparing for the task, selecting and using specialist tools and lead wiping equipment, cleaning and tinning metal surfaces, heating and applying lead and lead wiping to complete repairs, finishing repairs to pre-paint condition, and completing workplace processes and documentation. It applies to those working in the automotive body repair industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

0500.E3.O1Final inspection is made to ensure work meets workplace expectations and components are presented ready for painting
