This unit describes the performance outcomes required to repair vehicle body panels and components that have been damaged by corrosion. It involves preparing for the task, selecting and using specialist tools and equipment, removing corroded damage, fabricating replacement components, fitting and welding vehicle body components, finishing repairs to pre-paint condition, and completing workplace processes and documentation. It applies to those working in the automotive body repair industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
