This unit describes the performance outcomes required to carry out vehicle sectional repairs and replace components, including structural and non-structural vehicle components. It involves preparing for the task, selecting and using specialist tools and equipment, selecting repair methods, removing damaged components, repairing damaged sections, replacing and aligning new or repaired components, welding and finishing to pre-paint condition, and completing workplace processes and documentation. It applies to those working in the automotive body repair industry. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
