This qualification describes the skills and knowledge of those who work as an agronomist in the agriculture and horticulture industry. Individuals with this qualification will take personal responsibility and exercise autonomy in undertaking complex work. They must analyse information and exercise judgement to complete a range of advanced skilled activities. It is assumed that an individual undertaking this qualification will have prior agriculture or horticulture industry experience. Work must comply with workplace health and safety, food safety, biosecurity and environmental regulations, legislation and standards that apply to the workplace. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Packaging Rules
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in: 12 units of competency: 7 core units plus 5 elective units. Elective units must ensure the integrity of the qualification’s Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome. The electives are to be chosen as follows: 3 must be from the electives listed below 2 from the remaining electives listed below, or any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course packaged at Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma.
